Cooking Oil Recycling

Who would have thought that we would be taking our used cooking oil and turning it into an alternative fuel source? From large restaurants to the common household, cooking oil recycling is on the rise and turning out to be not only a viable source for bioliquid but well supported and enthusiastically backed by the environmentally conscience. This bioliquid will supply safe, clean and renewable electricity to electricity and gas companies nationwide.

Wastewater Treatment systems spend millions of dollars a year and 75% of their service calls to clean collection systems that over the years have accumulated oil and grease waste. This is hard on the collection pipes, expensive man-hours and causes handling problems in the waste treatment facility. And over time this cost eventually transfers to the consumer. This innovative and easy enterprise is a positively proactive way to control the ever increasing cost of water treatment and at the same time makes a solid contribution to bettering the environment.

Did you know that you can power a dishwasher with a bioliquid created from the amount of cooking oil you would use to fry up a batch of chips? It’s true! So now that you know you can, you want to know how and where. That’s easy. Living Fuels, a green energy firm is teaming up with several environmental services and agencies to set up collection stations throughout your area. Presently there are 14 Household Waste Recycling Centers (HWRC) where these collection stations are equipped with 1,250 liter containers. By the way each container holds enough cooking oil to produce electricity to power the average household for a year. To make it even more environmentally appealing, there are recycle containers on site where you can dispose of the plastic bottles you utilized to carry your used cooking oil in.

With these HWRC operating local residents can easily participate in the “Green” movement. Really now, if you are reading this article it is because waste recycling is a subject which captures your attention and provokes you into action.
